Intern, Salt Lake City, Utah
Danyel is pursuing a master’s degree in Landscape Architecture at Utah State University. She first studied fine art and product design, then received her bachelor’s degree in International Ecotourism. Her interests have led her to farming across the world, rafting through the deepest canyons, and skiing incredible terrain. After two AmeriCorps terms, Danyel spent five years in Southwest Colorado continuing her work in the non-profit sector. Her roles ranged from teaching and gardening with 5-12 year-olds, to managing teams of volunteers, to leading the design and installation of outdoor learning labs and gardens. Her designs received national recognition through the National Farm to School Network and USDA. Danyel is looking forward to refining her identity as a designer, and leading projects that utilize community participation and facilitation in the design process.
